Hi again Affiliate,
So did you give in to curiosity and buy my book? Regardless, letme share a few more tidbits with you!
I can already hear a collective groan from all of my customers about this. YOU NEED TO TAKE GOOD NOTES! While they can be a bit annoying to have to keep up with during game play, they are one of the most important tools that you can use. Honestly, I can remember when I first came up with the idea to use them, and I hated them. I told myself that I would wait one week to see if it actually improved my profits, and sure enough there was a 23% increase within the first week. After that the animosity towards the notes turned to sheer pleasure
Everyone, me included, always overestimates how much the mind can take with accuracy. After 4 hours of continuous playing, I am sure that you can agree that the first few games will be quite vague. What about when those first few games were the games that won you the majority of your profits for the day? I am sure you would like to know what you did in those games, and taking notes is the way.You can see what you said about the type of player you were playing, how long the game took, how much you lost/profited from it, and the list goes on and on.
Even more important however, is the aid that your notes provide to you during actual game play. I have been down in plenty of games where my opponent had 95% of the chips, leaving me with a dismal 5%. At that point most people would already prepare for loss, but if you have player notes, you can almost figure out exactly what your opponent is thinking by what you have previously established. It has saved me from situations like that more times then you can imagine.
When you notice a trend in your opponent that you are playing, write it down! (Perhaps the opponent makes decisions quickly when he/she has nothing, or pauses a while on good hands) It's only natural to believe that you do not need to write it down, but trust me; it can be invaluable in saving your hard earned cash when you are in a sticky situation. In addition, these notes will give you a guideline on how to attack your opponent properly without causing you to fall into losing streaks, known as tilts. Tilts are usually caused by emotion ruining the logic behind the decisions of your game play, usually making you play far too aggressively. If you have good notes it's almost impossible to make unreasonable mistakes which lead to tilt.
